I really need a job. & I am not extremely picky about where I work. I just don't know how/where/when to even submit an application. I am new to the whole working world. I've worked in my parent's offices. But have not really acquired a job on my own, yet. I am definitely old enough to get one, but do not even know where to begin. What should I do?

I applied for a retail job a month ago, got past the interview, they offered me the job, and I accepted. so when you got out of uni, degree(s) in hand, and realised that the job market in your industry was a pain the ass and as a graduate you were a bit screwed, maybe floundering around, what did you do with yourself? what did you get a job in and how did you keep your toes dipped in your industry while still having to pay the bills?
